After flying into any airport serving our destination, (see map for details), clearing inmigration and customs, one of our representative shuttle service will be holding a preprinted sign with your name and our logo. He will drive you back to town and assit you with the hotel check in.Every morning of your fishing days, you will be picked up at the hotel entrance at a given time and dropped back after fishing.

The fishing takes place in the biosphere reserve of "Los Petenes" starting with the first light of the sunrise. Once the day’s fishing grounds are reached in the range of 5 minutes to 1.40 hours, the guide will cut the motor to reveal the spectacularity of the place, either rolling fish on the outter flats or sounds of hundreds of birds coming from the mangroves. Then, anglers and guides start the polling and chasing game. The experience is very visual. The first sight of feeding tarpon breaking the surface will have your heart pounding.

A typical day will start dawn and literally will show fifty to hundreds of tarpon. If twelve fish are jumped and 2 or 3, even 5 are landed it should be considered a good day. The most significant factors that will determine success in finding the fish will be the wind or the lack there of, tide and the interaction of these two.

Be always ready to fish these waters:

SEAGRASS FLATS
Casting range 50 to 80 ft.

Some blind casting needed. With lack of wind, rolling schools can be spot from 100 yds away. You can expect longer fish runs and more jumps.

MANGROVE SHORE
Casting range 20 to 50 ft.

Casting underneath hanging branches or creeks mouth will produce explosive hook ups. More Technique required to void the mangrove challenge.

CANOPY CASTING
Casting rage 10 to 30 ft. Rollcast.

We’ll make our way back in the channels where you will be casting under a beautiful mangrove canopy.

As the whole bay bottom is soft and shallow, we’ll be fishing 2 to 8 ft waters and there are no chances to wade. Mostly boat fishing will be done and lunch time will be taken onboard at the time you want.

Our fishing day usually ends up around 2:00 or 3:00 afternoon but if fish is bitting, we’ll stay longer.
